Candidate for Anti-Corruption Committee Member Discusses Connection with Glanzh Alco

“I have not personally examined any case related to corruption to know what cases have been sent to court. My focus has been on the field of cybercrime,” declared Narek Hambardzumyan, the candidate nominated by the Prosperous Armenia Party for the Anti-Corruption Committee, on November 18 in the National Assembly. This statement came in response to a question from the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, regarding whether he ever uncovered any corruption link associated with officials.

It is noteworthy that N. Hambardzumyan worked as an investigator in the Investigative Committee of Armenia from 2014 to 2018. In response to another question from Mirzoyan about whether Glanzh Alco LLC, where the candidate served as the financial deputy director, has any ties to political forces, the candidate said: “This is our family business. It was founded by my father in 1995, and there are no officials in our extended family.”
