Vladimir Putin Dismisses Several Generals
Vladimir Putin has dismissed more than ten generals. In another decree, Putin appointed new heads of security agencies in various regions.
Among those relieved of their duties are 11 generals from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Investigative Committee, including Major General Alexander Melnikov, who is accused of fraud.
Melnikov is currently in custody and held in an investigative isolation facility. He is charged with demanding and accepting a bribe of 100 million rubles.
