Artsakh Foreign Minister Meets with US Congress Members
During a working visit to the United States, the Artsakh Republic delegation, headed by Foreign Minister Masis Mayilyan, held separate meetings with the leaders and members of the congressional committees related to the Armenian-American agenda. This information was reported by the press service of the Artsakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Masis Mayilyan highly appreciated the firm support of US legislators for the ongoing struggle of the people of Artsakh for freedom, peace, and a dignified life in their homeland.
There was an exchange of ideas regarding prospective initiatives aimed at promoting the interests of Artsakh in the US Congress. Both sides emphasized the importance of ensuring and expanding the continuity of humanitarian programs in Artsakh, supported by the US, as well as the necessity of implementing new development projects.
At the request of the Congress members, Masis Mayilyan addressed the process of international recognition of the Artsakh Republic and the latest developments surrounding the resolution of the Azerbaijan-Karabakh conflict, as well as the situation at the line of contact between the armed forces of Artsakh and Azerbaijan and the steps taken by the republic's authorities to maintain the ceasefire regime.
In this context, US Congress members reaffirmed their commitment to continue working towards ensuring stability in the Azerbaijan-Karabakh conflict zone. The Congress members expressed their readiness to continue efforts aimed at breaking the isolation of Artsakh and promoting sustainable development.
Participating in the meetings were also Davit Melkumyan, Deputy Chairman of the Permanent Commission on Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of the Artsakh Republic, and Robert Avetisyan, Permanent Representative of the Artsakh Republic in the USA and Canada.
