Arman Babajanyan is Creating a Political Party
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that independent MP Arman Babajanyan is in the process of forming a new political force, searching for an office and meeting with people. Most likely, he will announce the creation of a party by the end of the year, which will also include representatives of the current government.
Names such as Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan and MP Varazdat Karapetyan from the "My Step" faction have been mentioned. The idea and composition of creating a radical opposition is attributed to Nikol Pashinyan, much like Robert Kocharian once formed the Prosperous Armenia Party.
In an interview with the newspaper, Varazdat Karapetyan stated that he does not consider himself a political actor and likely will never become a party member. "Even though the MP should be a political actor, I do not believe I am a political figure nor will I ever join any party. I believe that the political future will reject the existence of parties. We must think about creating a new culture in Armenia. There is a society based on rights and a responsibility-based accountability, and we should pursue a path not of personal rights but of responsibility," he said.
