Levon Kocharyan Sees Direct Link Between Hrayr Tovmasyan and Robert Kocharyan's Cases
The son of the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, Levon Kocharyan, sees a direct connection between the president of the Constitutional Court, Hrayr Tovmasyan, and his father's cases. He expressed this opinion today, October 21, during an interview with journalists.
“Let’s look at the timeline, and everything will become clear. The pressure on the Constitutional Court started when it became evident that Davit Grigoryan decided on May 20 to halt the case and refer it to the Constitutional Court. The decision on September 4 was probably a final point for them when they realized that the Constitutional Court does not conform to their will,” stated Levon Kocharyan.
He noted that when the National Assembly sent a draft to terminate Hrayr Tovmasyan's mandates to the Constitutional Court, and the Court did not accept the proceedings, accusations were brought forth afterward. “People act in a simple and primitive manner. It’s just shameful. I am convinced that ultimately everyone will be held accountable for these illegal actions,” he added.
