The Human Rights Defender Receives the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Sweden to Armenia
The Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, today received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Georgia and Armenia, Ulrik Tidestrom.
According to the press department of the Human Rights Defender's office, Arman Tatoyan presented the directions of the Human Rights Defender's work, priorities, and ongoing work on individual cases and systemic issues.
The Human Rights Defender also addressed the steps taken towards the protection of women's rights and the awareness-raising activities.
Talking about international cooperation, Arman Tatoyan noted that the Human Rights Defender acts as a third party in the European Court of Human Rights concerning cases against Armenia and presents special positions to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe aimed at an independent assessment of Armenia's implementation of ECtHR judgments.
The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Sweden to Georgia and Armenia, Ulrik Tidestrom, emphasized the importance of the Human Rights Defender's work.
