Former Defense Army Commander Grigori Sahakyan Establishing Political Party

The newspaper «Hraparak» reports that new political parties are being created ahead of the parliamentary elections in Artsakh. One of the former commanders of the Defense Army, Grigori Sahakyan, is set to establish a political party soon. Sahakyan gained public recognition during the April War, as his division successfully carried out operations towards Askeran, after which he was awarded the Order of Combat Cross, 1st class.

Sahakyan participated in the Stepanakert mayoral elections, securing the second place with nearly 5,000 votes (the ruling candidate won). He is currently conducting regional visits.
