‘Daring’ Prime Minister Emphasizes His ‘I’ as Usual, Says Sharmazanov

Eduard Sharmazanov, the spokesperson for the Republican Party of Armenia, addressing Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statements regarding the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, wrote on his Facebook page:

“When Nikol Pashinyan declared at a rally in Stepanakert that ‘Artsakh is Armenia and that’s it,’ and the slogans of ‘Unification,’ the government’s propaganda machine hastily presented this as their favorite adjective—‘unprecedented’ national statement, showing off how ‘daring’ a prime minister we have. However, today, Pashinyan registers a ‘one step forward, two steps back’ in an interview with Fox LA, particularly mentioning, ‘The resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue should be acceptable to the peoples of Armenia, Artsakh, and Azerbaijan.’

The ‘daring’ prime minister, as usual, emphasized his ‘I’ and stated that he is the first leader of Armenia to talk about this. Pashinyan is again in his style—an absurd, illogical action and formulations. Thus, after the ‘yellow card’ from the international community, Pashinyan is ‘retreating with a song.’

What was the need to indulge in populism in Stepanakert, only to retreat today?
P.S. Nikol Pashinyan is the first leader of Armenia who has never mentioned that the international recognition of Artsakh’s independence has no alternative. It is a national tragedy that the negotiation process is entrusted to someone who is a captive of ‘isms’ and lacks a conceptual framework, ‘populism.’”
