‘Hraparak’: Osipyan's Resignation Was Unexpected – Details

‘Hraparak’ newspaper writes that Valery Osipyan’s resignation, while anticipated, came as a surprise to everyone. This is because on September 13, Nikol Pashinyan had signed a decision to send Osipyan to the U.S. from October 24-31. He was to participate in the annual conference of international chiefs of police.

However, the week arrived earlier than expected, as tensions flared the day before at the Security Council meeting over disagreements regarding opening the Amulsar mine road. Osipyan had opposed the Prime Minister, highlighting the risks of using force, which did not sit well with Pashinyan, who responded by saying that if Osipyan couldn't handle it, someone else would.

Nevertheless, he was not left without a position, as a special role of chief advisor was created for him, unlike the other appointees who remain ordinary advisors to the Prime Minister.
