Gagik Jhangiryan Acquitted in March 1 Case
The Supreme Court, presided over by Judge Hamlet Asatryan, has just announced a ruling that overturns the 2009 verdict against Gagik Jhangiryan related to the events of 2008. G. Jhangiryan has been acquitted.
It is noteworthy that Jhangiryan, who was the Deputy Prosecutor General, was arrested on February 23, 2008. On March 23, 2009, he was sentenced to three years in prison for committing violence against a representative of the authorities. The appellate court upheld that decision.
Now, ten years later, Jhangiryan has appealed to the Supreme Court, requesting the annulment of the first instance court's verdict and the appellate court's decision to uphold it.
