We will file an appellate complaint regarding the rejection of the first motion, says Kocharian's lawyer
Lawyers for Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharian will file an appellate complaint against the decision made by Judge Anna Danibekyan of the Shengavit Court of General Jurisdiction in Yerevan on September 17, which rejected their motion to lift Kocharian's detention and to suspend the criminal prosecution against him.
This was announced by Haik Alumyanz, a member of Kocharian’s legal team, during a conversation with reporters after the hearing. “We will file an appellate complaint regarding the rejection of the first motion,” Alumyanz stated.
During the court session at the Shengavit Court of General Jurisdiction in Yerevan, Kocharian's defense attorney Hovhannes Khudoyan presented a motion for the release of his client on bail. The court’s decision on the motion will be published on September 20 at 17:00.
On September 17, Judge Anna Danibekyan made a decision to reject the defense's motion to lift the detention measure against the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, and to suspend the criminal prosecution. Robert Kocharian will continue to remain in custody.
