The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has signed the dismissal decree for Arthur Vanetsyan, the Director of the National Security Service. He made this statement during a press conference held today in Vanadzor.
“His decree will be signed within 1-2 days. This decision was made after several discussions with him and by mutual agreement. We have discussed several scenarios regarding his future activities, which will also be addressed further along the way. At this moment, Vanetsyan should focus on helping the Armenian national football team qualify for the European finals, which is a matter of significant national and state importance,” he said.
Vanetsyan was appointed as the Director of the National Security Service in May 2018.
