Ukrainian Central Election Commission to be Dissolved
The Supreme Rada of Ukraine, in a session held on September 13, voted 341 to support President Volodymyr Zelensky's proposal for the early termination of the powers of all members of the Central Election Commission (CEC), reports korrespondent.net.
Ruslan Stefanchuk, the president's representative in parliament, noted that the early termination of the CEC members' powers occurs with a "well-reasoned explanation" from the president.
Arthur Gerasymov, the head of the "European Solidarity" faction, stated that in such cases, CEC members are invited to the Rada session.
According to the source, the "European Solidarity" and "Voice" factions voted against the dissolution. The vote in favor of the dissolution of the CEC had been planned for the previous day but was postponed.
