First Reading Passed for Points System on Traffic Violations
The National Assembly today voted in favor of a draft law establishing a points system for violations of traffic rules on its first reading. The draft received 94 votes in favor, 21 against, and 1 abstention.
The votes against came from members of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK). Several members of the faction stated during yesterday's discussion that the implementation of this system is inappropriate given the condition of the roads, poor infrastructure, and other adverse conditions. The Luys alliance (LHK) faction announced that they would vote in favor during the first reading, provided that their proposals would be discussed before the second reading.
