A Tumo Center to Open in Tokyo
On September 9, 2019, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies and one of Japan's leading publishing and educational companies, Gakken Publishing. According to the agreement, Gakken Publishing will conduct market research and explore opportunities for Tumo's educational program to determine the size, location, and possible features of the Tumo center to be built in Tokyo.
The memorandum was signed by Tumo's Director of Development, Bekor Papazyan, and Gakken Holdings' CEO, Hideyuki Ikari. Gakken Publishing's parent company, Gakken Holdings, was established in 1947 and is involved in publishing, educational programs, and the production of school supplies and toys. This large company also operates in the fields of television and game development.
Currently, there are two Tumo centers operating outside Armenia: in Paris and Beirut. Additionally, agreements have already been made to establish centers in California, Moscow, Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan, and Tirana, the capital of Albania.
