VIDEO: Mayor Marutyan Responds to Resignation Demands

Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan responded today to statements from those demanding his resignation during a meeting with journalists.

“We have returned 6500 square meters from our kindergartens back to the community, we have increased our budget by two billion drams, which means we are gathering resources. We are returning parks, reviewing all illegal tenders and illegal privatizations. We are starting major construction, we have big plans. What is this about, what resignation are we talking about?” he said.

Marutyan noted that they have opened new institutions that have never existed before, stating that the Yerevan municipality had no equipment, but now has substantial resources, and they are preparing to acquire new equipment to be independent.
