NSS Reveals Major Embezzlement Case in Defense Ministry Procurement Process
The National Security Service (NSS) of the Republic of Armenia has uncovered a major embezzlement case related to the procurement processes for the needs of the Ministry of Defense as part of its operations aimed at combating corruption.
According to preliminary data obtained, officials of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, in collusion with a supplier organization, signed a supply contract at an inflated price, resulting in the transfer of 21 million 700 thousand AMD more than the actual market value of the goods to that company, leading to significant loss of funds.
A criminal case has been initiated at the NSS investigative department based on the relevant articles of the Armenian Criminal Code regarding the above-mentioned apparent crime. The funds have been misappropriated.
