Manvel Grigoryan to Remain in Custody as Defense Motion is Denied
The court hearing today regarding the case of former National Assembly member and General Manvel Grigoryan and his wife, Nazik Amiryan, was adjourned. Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan stated that the court has decided to reject Grigoryan's defense team's motion to lift his detention as a preventive measure. Thus, Manvel Grigoryan will remain in custody.
The next court session for the case is scheduled for September 3.
Following the court's decision, Grigoryan's lawyer, Levon Baghdasaryan, stated that due to his detention, Grigoryan is unable to receive adequate medical assistance. “What is happening to Grigoryan is simply torture. The medical care that the government was supposed to provide to Grigoryan at the appropriate hospital is being denied to him because of his detention. He is facing typical torture,” he said.
