We Will Do Everything to Ensure Arayik Ghazaryan is Not Tortured and Can Be Repatriated Later: Artur Hovhannisyan
The International Committee of the Red Cross is already working to arrange a meeting with the Armenian serviceman who found himself in Azerbaijan. Currently, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia has no updates regarding this meeting.
During an interview with Armenpress, Press Secretary of the Ministry of Defense Artur Hovhannisyan stated, "We will do everything to ensure that he is not tortured, remains healthy, and that later we have the opportunity to repatriate him. Unfortunately, all of this is only being carried out through international organizations, as we have no direct contact with Azerbaijan. We will continue to exert all efforts for this purpose as we have been doing."
According to him, simultaneously, an investigation is being conducted at the military unit where Arayik Ghazaryan served. "There is an investigation ongoing, and it will clarify many issues." In reference to the border situation, Artur Hovhannisyan noted that the current situation is relatively calm.
