Hrachya Hakobyan Denies Allegations of Supporting Protests in Russia
A Russian news website recently published an article claiming that Hrachya Hakobyan, a member of Armenia's National Assembly from the "My Step" faction, expressed support for the protests happening in Russia.
The MP has denied this information via his Facebook page, stating that the article also falsely attributed a letter to him addressed to Grey Taylor, the president of the Open Society Foundations. He wrote, "A few days ago, a Russian website published an article in which I supposedly expressed my support for the protests occurring in Russia in support of Alexei Navalny. Additionally, the article included what is claimed to be a letter I sent to Grey Taylor, the president of the Open Society Foundations. None of this corresponds to reality. Both the format of the National Assembly MP’s blank and my signature are forged."
Hrachya Hakobyan plans to appeal to law enforcement agencies regarding this matter.
