Criminal Case Filed Against Atambayev's Wife

The authorities of Kyrgyzstan have initiated a criminal case against Raisa Atambayeva, the wife of the former president Almazbek Atambayev. She informed reporters, "A criminal case is currently being filed against me." The former first lady of Kyrgyzstan is still unaware of the specific charges that law enforcement officials are bringing against her.

It is worth noting that on August 8, a decision was made to detain Almazbek Atambayev. He faces allegations of murder and particularly serious crimes, totaling 12 counts. Almazbek Atambayev will remain in the investigative isolation facility of the State Committee for National Security until August 26.
