Earlier today, a closed court session concluded at the Yerevan City Court based on the request of the senior investigator for especially serious crimes of the Armenian Investigative Committee. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the judge, after returning from the consultative room, approved the investigator's request, and the motion for detention concerning Alexander Zakaryan, the founder of Security Dream, has been granted.
According to G. Shamshyan, A. Zakaryan will be moved to the Armavir penitentiary facility.
It should be noted that within the framework of a criminal case examined by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, on August 13 today, Alexander Zakaryan, the founder of Security Dream, and Sahakunysh Sahakyan, the chief accountant of the company Elips, were arrested. Last year, the police announced discoveries of embezzlement at Security Dream and Elips.
Investigations revealed that contracts were signed in 2011, 2013, and 2017 between the Road Police and the Security Dream company for purchasing surveillance systems and providing services for state needs. As a result, the management of Security Dream and Elips embezzled approximately 1 billion 15 million 869 thousand 600 dram.
