The Situation is Escalating: 'Sanitek' Issues a Statement
'Sanitek' company management has released a statement regarding the unresolved waste collection issue in Yerevan. In particular, it states:
“Dear partners,
Dear fellow citizens,
On August 2 of this year, 'Sanitek' submitted two proposals to the city hall to resolve the emerging situation, both short-term and long-term. However, to this day, these proposals have remained unanswered. Such an attitude suggests that the immediate rectification of the situation is not a priority for the city hall; it continues to act unilaterally, without developing a clear policy for waste management. Instead, the city hall has illegally removed 'Sanitek' waste bins and has failed to make the necessary payments, resulting in the situation spiraling out of control.
The government, in its meeting on August 8 of this year, designated the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Development as the authorized body responsible for organizing waste management and sanitation in settlements across Armenia. We are confident that this decision will contribute to resolving the current situation.”
