Driver in Extreme Drunkenness Crashes into Gas Station
Today, July 22, a major road accident occurred in Yerevan. According to Shamshyan.com, at around 6:30 PM, a 33-year-old resident of Syunik Province, Arthur Arakelyan, lost control of his BMW vehicle (license plate 35 XM 141) on Sebastia Street. The car veered off the roadway, crashed into the "Flash" gas station located at 161 Sebastia Street, knocking down the fueling station and partially ending up in the middle of the road.
As of preliminary reports, there are no reported injuries from the accident. Quickly responding to the scene were officers from the Yerevan traffic police, led by Deputy Chief Davit Avagyan.
The driver underwent a sobriety test on-site, which revealed that he was in an extreme state of drunkenness while driving. In connection with the incident, Inspector Davit Karunyants from the first police battalion is preparing materials for further proceedings.
