Until Evening My Child Is Not Next To Me, There Will Be Murder: Mother of Man Detained Near Ijevan Provincial Government

“Until my child is brought here by evening, there will be murder,” stated the mother of 30-year-old Garik Meliksetyan, who was detained near the Ijevan provincial government building. The woman insisted that her son did not participate in the protests yesterday, as they had been in Hoktemberyan together; they returned in the morning, and her son decided to walk around the provincial government area to see what had happened, but ended up being detained instead.

“They just arrested my child and took him to an unknown place. In the morning he said, ‘I’m going to see what happened,’ and then I received a call saying, ‘They’ve taken your child.’ They are taking an innocent child. Now either I will kill myself or those who took him. Until my child is by my side by evening, there will be murder; my child did not participate in this protest,” the woman stated.
