Taxi Driver Demands Large Sum from Tourists and Takes One's Mobile Phone
On July 16, at around 21:40, two foreign young men approached the officers of the patrol service of the police in Republic Square. They reported that a taxi driver they did not know had just taken a mobile phone and money from them.
The police escorted the foreigners to the police station, where it was revealed that the taxi driver had demanded a large sum of money from the tourists, which they refused to pay. Instead, the driver took the female passenger's mobile phone and 10,000 AMD.
Materials are being prepared at the police station. Information has been received that the taxi driver is a 25-year-old man from Vagharshapat.
