Organizing a Small Protest: Demonstration at the Road Police Building

Drivers are staging a protest at the administrative building of the Road Police. They are demanding the dismissal of three high-ranking officials: Arthur Tonoyan, head of the Investigative Committee, Arman Hakobyan, head of the Road Police in Yerevan, and Kostantin Kostanyan, head of the road signage department.

In an interview with ArmDaily.am, Artak Khachaturov, a member of the Public Initiative for Fines, stated that the purpose of the demonstration is to demand proper traffic organization and to improve the quality of the work of the Road Police. “We are organizing a small protest in front of the Road Police department due to illegal road markings leading to fines, the chaos in the city that goes unchecked, and the suffering of the public in queues at traffic police offices,” he said.
