Increase in Minimum Wage Will Be a Serious Burden for Local Governments

The issue is that there are many individuals earning the minimum wage in city halls and community institutions, and this additional 13,000 dram will create a significant burden on the budgets of the communities, as it is unclear how this financial difference will be compensated.

Notably, the newspaper has received intriguing information that during one of the discussions, the longtime figure in the sector, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan, complained in a rather loud tone, accusing those present of not understanding the fundamental issues this could create. It should be noted that the draft decision has not undergone a professional discussion in the relevant committees of the government’s corresponding departments.
