Armed Robbery Against Pharmacy Employee
The Investigation Committee of Armenia is conducting an inquiry into the circumstances of an armed robbery against an employee of a pharmacy in the Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan. A 27-year-old man has been charged.
According to the press service of the Investigative Committee, at 1:00 AM on March 31, 2019, a resident of Armavir province, born in 1992, entered a pharmacy located on Mamikoanyants Street in Yerevan. Displaying a firearm, he threatened the pharmacy employee with violence dangerous to life and health and stole the money from the cash register before fleeing the scene.
Furthermore, during the pre-investigation, it was revealed that the 27-year-old man illegally acquired and stored 70.01 grams of marijuana in the basement of his home without intent to sell, which was discovered during the search of his residence.
Based on sufficient evidence, the young man has been charged under part 2, clause 4 of Article 175 and part 3 of Article 268 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. He has been placed in custody as a measure of restraint.
The investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigative actions are being undertaken to determine the source of the narcotic and to ensure a comprehensive, objective, and complete examination of the case.
