Mother Accidentally Shoots Son in Gegharkunik Province

A 9-year-old boy has been transferred to the hospital in Chambarak from the village of Artanish in Gegharkunik Province. Doctors have determined that he suffered a penetrating injury to his thigh.

According to armeniasputnik.am, on June 2, the child fired shots with an air gun in their yard at some artificial target. He then handed the gun to his mother and went to inspect the target. Unaware that the gun was still loaded, the mother accidentally pulled the trigger, resulting in her son's injury.

With the help of neighbors, the child was immediately taken to the hospital. Our sources report that the boy is a fourth-grade student at the Artanish secondary school, where his mother also works.
