Alarming News: Acidic Streams Flowing in Kapan After Rain
The "Armenian Environmental Front" civic initiative is raising alarms about the emergence of "acidic streams" in the city of Kapan.
The initiative's page states: "After the rain in Kapan, acid streams are flowing through parts of the streets. This liquid, rich in heavy and hazardous elements, has been continuously spreading in the natural environment due to waste heaps left over from the mine 40 years ago and from mining operations, leaving its consequences on the health of the people as well."
The photographs were taken by one of our supporters in Kapan on May 26, 2019."
