Armen Sargsyan Appointed as New Director of the State Song Theatre

The State Song Theatre has a new acting director: Armen Sargsyan, a member of the Yerevan City Council from the 'My Step' faction. This information was reported by Factor.am.

In an interview with the media, Armen Sargsyan confirmed the news of his appointment as the director of the State Song Theatre. "I have been appointed today. I will be serving as the acting director. The acting Minister of Culture Nazeni Ghahriyan is currently out of the country. Once she returns, we will announce a competition for the directorship," stated Armen Sargsyan.

The media outlet highlights that the term of the previous director of the State Song Theatre, Arthur Asatryan, was set to expire in a month, according to Armen Sargsyan. "In addition to the expiration of the term, Mr. Asatryan has health issues and is currently receiving treatment in the United States," emphasized Sargsyan.
