Nikol Pashinyan's Letter to Emmanuel Macron
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has sent a condolence letter to French President Emmanuel Macron regarding the fire that broke out at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris on April 15.
In the letter, it is stated:
“Dear Mr. President, we are shocked by the tragedy that has occurred in Paris. Notre-Dame Cathedral is one of the most significant and beloved symbols of European civilization and the entire Christian world. For us Armenians, it embodies a unique aspect of French culture and spiritual heritage with which we have identified Paris and its centuries-old history.
Armenia expresses its solidarity with the French people and shares their sentiments. At the same time, we are hopeful that through our joint efforts, necessary steps will be taken to restore the cathedral to its former glory.”
