I Propose Both of You to Be Ashotyan: Alen Simonyan to Ashotyan and Serge Sargsyan
Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan has written an open letter on his Facebook page to the Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan.
“Dear Mr. Ashotyan,
Having read your open letter and observing your ongoing, I would say, deepening concern, noticing the fact that the expressions frequently directed at you apparently bring you constant pleasure, while also noting the peculiar behavior of your direct leader Serge Sargsyan, who has never been actually elected yet indulges himself with titles and positions, the disconnection from reality and dishonesty, and considering the unequivocal demand raised by thousands of sons of the Armenian people against both of you, I propose both of you to be Ashotyan.
I kindly ask for public information regarding the outcomes to be presented to society.
Respectfully, A. Simonyan.”
Let us recall that Armen Ashotyan had written:
“Just a year ago, at the end of February, after Alen Simonyan’s yet another unsuccessful public speech, he was begging me to intervene and speak on his behalf with one of our 'strong' members of parliament, whose wrath towards Alen was fraught with serious consequences.
I was on a mission in Budapest, trying from afar to save the newly appointed Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, who, at that time, was cowering in terror and was repeatedly trying to clarify with me whether I managed to smooth over his issue.
This gentleman, with a heart like that of a rabbit, will still have to answer in sequence, the time is not far off. Today, however, do not flatter yourself, big politics is not something for your intellect, level, and morality. Even your boss cannot manage that.
P.S. And lustration is a good thing; it is worth reminding certain people from time to time who they are.”
