Tsarukyan on Transgender Issues

“As Tsarukyan, as the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, as a father of an Armenian family, a person raised with customs and traditions, and a believer in the church, this is unacceptable for me. It is a flaw and should be kept secret. We will never allow this to spread or gain legal force,” said Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, during a conversation with reporters today.

Referring to the transgender individual's speech from the parliamentary podium and the lawsuit against Naira Zohrabyan, Tsarukyan noted that they stand by Zohrabyan.

“We stand by Naira Zohrabyan. Zohrabyan, as the chair of the Human Rights Committee, has acted very appropriately. She allowed that person to speak, but there was another issue on the agenda that day, and she could not have acted differently,” he emphasized.
