Flash Denies Mixing Aviation Fuel with Gasoline
The fuel-selling company Flash has denied reports published in the newspaper "Zhamanak" that they mix aviation fuel with gasoline and sell it to consumers.
Following the publication of this information, the owner of the company, Barsegh Beglaryan, spoke with "1in" and categorically refuted the claims, stating that such a step would be unacceptable for their company.
"Flash has been in the gasoline market for about 25 years, and its operations are based on the motto 'Good reputation is the most valuable capital.' Such an act would be unacceptable and not in line with our company’s values. We deny this information," said Barsegh Beglaryan.
The newspaper "Zhamanak" reported that according to circulating rumors, some high-ranking officials at the airport have been involved and continue to be involved in the procurement of aviation kerosene for the airport and reselling it to some major gasoline importing companies operating in Armenia, which then allegedly mix the kerosene with gasoline and sell it to consumers.
"The whole secret is that the customs clearance of kerosene is not subject to excise tax, which is why it is significantly cheaper than the customs clearance price for gasoline. According to our information, aviation fuel has been resold in Armenia through 'Maks Group' and 'Flash,' meaning the companies that have direct connections to Serzh Sargsyan and his son-in-law," the newspaper stated.
