Circumstances of the Murder of a 50-Year-Old Man Revealed; Arrest Made

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has revealed the circumstances surrounding the murder of a 50-year-old man within the framework of an ongoing criminal case in the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district.

According to preliminary data, on March 4, 2019, at approximately 00:40, a resident born in 1977 had a dispute over household matters with another resident born in 1969 on Z. Sarkavag Street in Yerevan, during which the latter, intending to unlawfully deprive the man of his life, fired gunshots at him using a firearm he possessed illegally, resulting in the man’s death from gunshot wounds.

A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigative Committee in the Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district under the first part of Article 104 and the first part of Article 235 of the RA Criminal Code.

As a result of immediate investigative actions, several circumstances of the case have been clarified. The resident born in 1977 has been arrested on suspicion of committing the crime.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
