Will We Have an Alternative to Lars? New Meeting Ahead
The newspaper "Zhamanak" reports that the governments of Georgia and Russia are taking practical steps aimed at ensuring the monitoring of imports and exports at the border points of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Georgia's Finance Minister Ivane Matchavariani has announced that a meeting between representatives of Georgia and Russia will take place on February 8-9.
As previously mentioned, if this meeting concludes successfully, the transit of goods through Abkhazia and South Ossetia could begin as early as the end of March, providing Armenia with a reliable and economically more beneficial alternative to the Upper Lars border crossing.
More details will be available in today's issue of the newspaper.
