Five out of Six CSTO Member States Sign Decision to Appoint Zas as Secretary General
The draft decision to appoint Stanislav Zas, a candidate from Belarus, as the Secretary General of the CSTO has been signed by leaders of five out of the six member states, namely Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan. Only Armenia has yet to sign. This information was reported today by the organization's press secretary, Vladimir Zainetdinov.
He noted that the signatures were collected on an individual basis during separate meetings with Zas. The meeting with the Prime Minister of Armenia has been postponed indefinitely.
