Decapitated Statue Transferred from Gyumri to Ijevan
The "My Step" statue has been transferred from Gyumri to Ijevan. The statue's creator, Armen Davtyan, a resident of Ijevan, made this decision after unknown individuals damaged the statue's head a few days ago. Earlier, the statue's foot had also been damaged.
In an interview with SHANTNEWS.am, the sculptor's daughter, Anushik Davtyan, mentioned that the statue is now in the artist's workshop in Ijevan.
“There was no one at that location to supervise the statue, and it was still possible for it to be damaged again. It didn’t make sense to restore it every time. That is why we took it to Ijevan. It will probably be installed near the entrance to Ijevan. We do not know who damaged the statue—perhaps it was someone inadequate. In any case, the final decision was to relocate it because the incidents could happen again,” she said.
