Prisoner Transport Vehicle Injures 2 Schoolchildren, 5 Injured
In the town of Artik, Shirak province, a 36-year-old man named Chaplin Martirosyan, a resident of Gyumri, lost control of his UAZ vehicle with license plate 017 II 09, veering off the road and hitting two local schoolchildren, 14-year-old Armen Nahapetyan and 13-year-old Seyran Arshakyan.
According to Shamshyan.com, the incident occurred today, December 13, at around 15:40.
After the accident, the vehicle crashed into a concrete fence at 29 Narekatsi Street, resulting in injuries to the two children, driver Chaplin Martirosyan, and a passenger, 49-year-old Karakhan Barseghyan, who were all taken to Gyumri Medical Center. Another injured passenger, 29-year-old Vruyr Hakobyan, was transported to the medical center of the Artik penitentiary.
According to reports, the driver of the UAZ works in the escort unit of the Shirak regional police, while the injured children attend the 8th grade at Artik's 6th secondary school. Meanwhile, the injured Vruyr Hakobyan is an inmate.
Injured Karakhan Barseghyan also works in the escort unit of the Shirak regional police as the commander of the second squad.
