Armen Ashotyan's House Arrest Extended for Another Month, Lawyer Says
The Anti-Corruption Court has extended the house arrest of former Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, for another month. This was announced by his lawyer, Ruben Melikyan, who noted that the court partially satisfied the investigator's request.
Armen Ashotyan has been under house arrest since June 5. On July 7, the term of his arrest was extended by another month.
It should be noted that the Investigative Committee accuses Ashotyan of abusing his official position and actions related to the illegal disposal of large amounts of property. According to the Investigative Committee, this pertains to a case concerning the disposal of property from the territory of Yerevan State Linguistic University after V. Brusov.
