Wildberries Sellers' Losses Could Reach 215-280 Billion Rubles: Forbes

Following the strikes from Ukrainian drones, the losses suffered by Wildberries sellers could amount to 215-280 billion rubles. This estimate was published by Forbes, citing Sergey Semko, a leading analyst at the research agency Data Insight.

His calculations are based on an incident in 2024, where compensation was provided for about 35 billion rubles worth of inventory after a fire broke out in a warehouse in Shushary. According to experts, the recent strikes could have impacted hundreds of thousands of sellers.

As of August 2, the total area of affected warehouses was estimated between 1.21-1.47 million square meters, with damage reported to be between 893,000 and 1.154 million square meters.

It is noted that earlier, Wildberries announced measures to support affected sellers. At the end of July, the company reported that it had already paid more than 40 million rubles in partial compensation, but currently, these payments are only being received by small businesses and individual entrepreneurs. Sellers continue to express dissatisfaction that the compensation process is unclear and that the amounts already received are insufficient.
