MPs' Bonus System Will Not Change, Ruben Rubinyan
The President of the National Assembly, Ruben Rubinyan, has announced that there will be no changes to the existing bonus system for MPs. According to him, the bonus system is based on a performance assessment mechanism instituted by the government, which also includes the National Assembly.
Addressing the possibility of foregoing salaries, Rubinyan stated that there is no legal mechanism for such a choice; an MP is required to receive their salary, which they can manage at their discretion later on. “Members of the Civil Contract faction have no other sources of income. If I were wealthy, I might consider refusing my salary,” Rubinyan said.
