Aram Vardevanyan Ceases Legal Practice
Member of the "Strong Armenia" party and lawyer Aram Vardevanyan announced in a conversation with reporters that he is ceasing his legal practice. He stated that he intends to apply to the Bar Association to suspend his license, according to news.am.
“Tomorrow’s court session will essentially be my last as a defense attorney,” Vardevanyan said, explaining that he made such a decision following the developments regarding the arrest of his client and party colleague Alik Aleksanyan.
He noted that in his eight years of active legal practice, he had never had a client who, after being released from detention, ended up back in custody. According to Vardevanyan, Aleksanyan’s case has become the first such occurrence in his professional career.
