786,000 USD Equivalent to be Recovered in Favor of Armenia: Prosecutor's Office
The latest lawsuit by the Office of the Prosecutor General for the protection of state interests has been accepted by the Anti-Corruption Court's ruling dated January 23, 2026. Following the decision coming into legal force, an equivalent of 786,000 US dollars or 297,980,000 Armenian drams will be recovered in favor of the Republic of Armenia. This was reported by the Prosecutor's Office.
“It should be noted that the Office of the Prosecutor General filed a lawsuit in the Anti-Corruption Court, demanding the annulment of the sales agreement for a plot of land located on Admiral Isakov Avenue in the Malatia-Sebastia community of Yerevan, signed on December 17, 2005, between former Minister of Defense Serge Sargsyan and an individual. The court, by granting the prosecution's request, declared the sales agreement null and void and, as a consequence of the annulment, ruled to recover the value of the property from the individual in favor of the Republic of Armenia, amounting to 297,980,000 drams,” the statement said.
