US Deploys New Missile Against Iran: NYT
The United States has reportedly used a new short-range ballistic missile, the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM), for the first time in an operation against Iran, according to The New York Times. The missile was reportedly deployed during airstrikes in the city of Lamerd, located in the southern part of the country.
The newspaper, citing military experts and an analysis of footage from the site, noted that two strikes recorded in Lamerd were evaluated, along with images and videos depicting the aftermath. Based on assessments from journalists and weapons specialists, the nature of the explosions, the characteristics of the employed munitions, as well as the destruction seen were consistent with the use of a short-range ballistic missile.
