Group of Individuals Assisted in Attempting to Avoid Draft, Investigative Committee Reports
The Military Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee has reported factual evidence obtained during the preliminary investigation of a criminal case, indicating that M.P. attempted to evade military conscription by means of deception. On April 29, 2024, he presented a forged document issued by the 'Center for Medical Genetics and Primary Health Care' LLC to the military commissariat in Kotayk Province, claiming to suffer from a periodic illness. This claim was refuted by studies conducted at both a medical clinic and a diagnostic laboratory, as well as conclusions drawn from forensic genetic examinations assigned within the case.
As a result, M.P. was deemed fit for military service and was conscripted into the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.
Furthermore, M.P.'s mother, a doctor at the medical center, and a citizen identified as H.M. assisted M.P. by removing obstacles and providing information to aid his attempt to evade conscription through deception. However, due to circumstances beyond their control, their intended malicious act was not completed. Criminal proceedings have been initiated against A.I., A.N., and H.M. under Article 46-44-461 of the Criminal Code for assisting in the attempt to evade mandatory military or alternative service or conscription.
