We Will Bring Our Country Out of This Situation: Gagik Tsarukyan
“Yesterday I was walking around our villages all day. I visited the villages of Nalbandyan, Nor Armavir, Amasia, Nor Kesar, and Shenavan in the Armavir region,” wrote Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, on his Facebook page.
“I interacted with hundreds of people; we spoke, they invited me to their homes – I went, and I heard both pleasant and difficult words. It is the greatest happiness when a person can freely walk through the villages of their country, greet, and embrace hundreds of unknown compatriots, listen to their worries, and try to find solutions. I have always gone to villages and am familiar with the issues. I have helped those I could, and I have kept my promises. I have not spoken empty words. I have entered our villages with a clear conscience, and my compatriots have accepted me like a relative. This is indeed happiness, but it also comes with great responsibility.
In the village of Amasia, Radik invited me to their home, the home of an honest and just Armenian. We spoke and listened to each other. Radik said, “Tsarukyan jan, if you stand beside our villagers, we will break the logs.” I replied that the village must stand beside Tsarukyan so we can break the log. The log represents the poverty that has befallen us, which truly does not suit us, the desperation in which our country finds itself, the numerous issues that need solutions which should have been resolved a long time ago but have not, the injustice in which people live, the myriad problems that make life difficult for people...
We will break that log; we will overcome poverty. We have discussed one by one all the issues that concern people, from major questions to everyday small issues. I am impressed by the wisdom of our people. In the near future, I will travel through the villages of all provinces of the republic, listen to people’s concerns, and present our team’s approaches. We will bring our country out of this situation. Rest assured.”
