Peskov's Response to the Slowdown of Telegram's Operations
The spokesman for the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, expressed regret that Telegram is not complying with Russian legislation. He stated that it would be preferable for the messenger and other services facing restrictions in Russia to adhere to existing laws.
Peskov noted that the agency has decided to slow down Telegram's operations due to the company's failure to meet legislative requirements. He emphasized that there is a law in Russia that must be respected.
Since February 10, 'Roskomnadzor' has tightened restrictions on the messaging service, resulting in slower message delivery and media file downloads. The agency has announced that these measures will continue as long as Telegram does not establish servers in Russia and does not start operating in accordance with the country's legislation.
